Gestalt therapy
Gestalt therapy is a form of humanistic, holistic, person-centered psychotherapy that seeks to develop human potential and personal growth.
This approach emphasizes the importance of self-responsibility and focuses on the individual’s experience in the present moment, the therapist-patient relationship, and the environmental and social contexts of each person’s life.
Gestalt, by definition, refers to the shape or figure of something and suggests that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, so the Gestalt emphasizes perception and pays attention to how we give meaning to our world and our experiences.
Through this approach, we put the person at the center of the therapeutic process, and offer spaces of security and confidence so that they can share their truth, valuing the context and working together. We provide the space needed for openness to self-awareness and work persistently to bring the person into the present, into what they are experiencing at that moment.
